Interpreting Fraction as a Whole

1. Short description about the material.

 

This is a short video clip converted from powerpoint presentation aiming to teach interpreting the fraction for grade II students which they need to know that, how to interpret if a shape is divided into equal parts, each part is called a fraction. Similarly they will be able to name the fraction depends upon how many equal parts into which the shape is divided as they go on interpreting the fractions.  

 

2. Description on how I created the material.

 

To make this material very presentable, meaningful and enjoyable in the process of teaching and learning, I have used some of the ICT tools such as shapes inserted from the insert buttons and used various animations in each picture including duration, delay timing, start with previous, color and motions path, voice over and background music as well. Moreover, after finishing the creation of the materials on power point presentation, I have used recording tool like earphone to record the voice over as per my script and inserted in the ppt slides. Having done all these formalities, than I have converted the powerpoint into Video form and uploaded in the blogger.

 

3. Where and how am I going to use this material in the teaching and learning process?

 

This teaching and learning material is meant for class II students to interpret fractions. It would be used before the Activity, during the activity and after the activity to check their understanding of those fractions. Similarly this material is specially designed with intention to benefit those young learners to improve their academic performance. Generally, it will be emphasis on the students being able to identify and pronounce correctly the fraction names such as one half, one third and one forth with the help of simple shapes presented in the video. This will extend to students creating representation of those fractions with shapes later in their life.

 

To go with this activity, children are enquired to follow the undermentioned materials instruction.

4. The followings steps are the instructions on how to use the material

 

Step 1: Click on the video to play.

Step 4: Watch the video attentively.

Step 3: Replay the video and listen carefully to voice over.

Step 4: Write down the fraction names like one half, one third and so on in your notebook.

Step 5: To attempt the activity, watch the video once more and follow the activity instructions.

Step 6: Go through the questions one by one.

Step 7: Write your answers against the question in the comment box and post it accordingly. 

          

Representing 2-digit number as Tens and Ones

 

1. Short description about the material.

 

This teaching and learning content based material is designed for Class II level on the topic Representing 2-digits number as Tens and Ones.  In the short video clip, it displayed the blocks starting from ones till it become fully base ten blocks. The aim of teaching and learning Tens and Ones is to understand better about the mathematic ideas such as how many ones makes tens and likewise how many tens are represent in number 20 and number 30 for example.

2. Description on how I created the material.

 

Based on the topic, I have created this material by using the ICT tool such as powerpoint inserted background music to the slides. In regard to the voice over, I intentionally not recorded the voice over, since children have prior knowledge of representing numbers in the previous class. Having prior knowledge about the numbers they can build up the concept easily through this  video presentation  this time. Similarly, children will know how to represent base ten blocks and ones block in the course of teaching and learning process. The background music over in the video was from Tom and Jerry's cartoon play, thinking that, nowadays, children were much familiar with this types of music and ultimately this will enhance for better understanding about the topic.  Making this material very presentable, meaningful and enjoyable in the process of teaching and learning, I have used some of the shapes inserted from the insert buttons and used various animations in each picture including duration, delay timing, start with previous, color and motions path. Moreover, after finishing the creation of the materials on powerpoint presentation I have uploaded this material in the blogger and make accessible to the learners.

By watching the video learners will be able to understand the concept of Tens and Ones  and this can be apply to their real life activities respectively.

Teaching preposition in class one through ICT integration

1. Short description about the material.

 

This is a short video clip converted from powerpoint presentation targeting to teach preposition for the class I children covering the preposition words such as On, In front, Under, Beside and Behind. The aim of teaching and learning reposition for the class I student is able to positional language effectively when they move to next grade, and also it is content based on which the curriculum demands. Moreover, preposition plays a vital role in making sentence structure and also marks special relationships between persons, objects and locations.

2. Description on how I created the material.

 

This is a content based teaching and learning materials that I have created for the benefit of learners of class I students. I have constructed this material by using the ICT tool such as powerpoint along with the voice over and later it was converted to video form which will be very convenient for learners to capture the ideas of preposition. To make this material very presentable and meaningful as well as enjoyable in the process of teaching and learning, I have used some of the shapes inserted from the insert buttons and used various animations in each picture including duration, delay timing, start with previous, color and motions path. Moreover, after finishing the creation of the materials on power point presentation, I have used recording tool like earphone to record the voice over in each preposition words along the video movement to enhance children learning better and retain the concept of preposition words in their mind forever. Having done all these formalities, I have converted the powerpoint into Video form and uploaded in the blogger.

 

3. Where and how am I going to use this material in the teaching and learning process?

 

This short video clip would be used before the Activity, during the activity and after the activity to check their understanding of those prepositions. Similarly this material is specially designed for class I in English subject on the topic teaching of preposition. The material will be used during various activities watching the video to understand the concept of preposition and to build the basic foundation of preposition from the early learning. 

4. The followings steps are the instructions on how to use the material

 

Step 1: Click on the video to play.

Step 2: Watch the video attentively and imitate the sounds along with the video.

Step 3: Replay the video and imitate the sound for two to three times.

Step 4: Write the preposition words in the notebook whichever is played in the video.

Step 5: To attempt the activity, watch the video once more and follow the activity instructions.

Step 6: Go through the questions one by one.

Step 7: Write your answers against the question in the comment box and post it accordingly. 

How to carry out the activity?

The activity can be carried out by looking through video uploaded in the blog. Children are required to write the answers as per the instruction and post it in the comment forum, so the teacher can observe their work and evaluate accordingly.

My Introduction

Hello, I am Tshewang Norbu from Paro College of education. Currently I am pursuing B.Ed primary course and I am in forth year.  My birth place is called Dojri under Trashigang Dzongkhag but at present I am residing at Samtse.  I have been served in the RBA organization more than 20 years, before get enrolled into this college.

My interest is to read book and to explore new places like pilgrimage site and other renowned places as well. During my leisure time, I usually make myself engage in reading rather than doing other unwanted activities, thinking that I could improve my English language. Not only improving English speaking but at the same time I am also practicing how to pronounce difficult words that I encountered while reading.

After my graduation from this college, I will do my best to serve well in the school wherever I have placed in and I will put full dedication to my work to become one of the exemplary teacher in the teaching field.
